	<title>Trap</title>

The scout has to report any enemy presence, but noone have seen any ag'groar in the last 120 years. Scientist think its about the radiation level on the planets.<br />

The marine just came round the corner and the huge creature stood there. His blood runs cold and he doesn't understand why the creature isn't attacking. Maybe it is waiting for something....<br />
<br />
Started in painter 8 to put up the patches and main colors and finished in photoshop cs2 with wacom. I wanted to keep it more rough and handpainted-like, but hope you like it.<br />

I wanted to create a full detailed concept, but not hiper-realistic, because it isn't fit for this fantasy world. All done in Photoshop, not even a single photo used for palette or textures or anything else... just different brushes... hope you guys like it!<br />

The basic idea was to show the two different worlds: the dragon's and the dragon rider's. The two parts are well separated, but still blending into each other somehow....<br />

	<title>Cardplay</title>

The spacecarrier's pilots usually stops here to get some fuel before the jump and have some rest and couple of drinks.<br />
The local hunters of the planet often comes to the spaceport to have some fun with gampling in the pubs. Everybody knows that if you play with Rhak Sa'duk hunter, he has to win. But sometimes there are young carrier pilots who never heard about this....<br />

Done in photoshop cs2 with hips of custom brushes. Used some textures to add more details and scanned references for the cards.<br />

The main point in the work was to create a detailed concept for the 3D modellers. I think concept art - as an applied art form - have their own rules. It's not enough to create amazing illustrations, if they are useless for the other fellows who you working with in a team.<br />

Made as a book cover for the fantasy book `Steel and the Lion`. They are the main characters of the book: the headhunter and the witch, who will fall in love into each other in the story.<br />
(Had to keep the top part of picture `clean`, cause thats where the title goes.) Original size around 6000 x 4500 px.<br />

	<title>Inca Hunter</title>

	<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://features.cgsociety.org/gallerycrits/188164/188164_1180269581_small.jpg"><br><br>Last week I went to an exhibition about the ancient incas and I was totally amazed. I made pencil sketches from the jewels, sculptures and weapons.<br />
I was impressed by a mace and I've started to made up a story about the object...<br />
<br />
The picture is about the best inca hunter in the tribe, who have to kill a black panther by oneself every year to prove his abilities. If he fails, another hunter gets his place...<br />
The hunt was succesful and the hunter prays for the gods in itself to help the soul of the panther on the other world.<br />
<br />
Done in photoshop cs2 with wacom in about 12-15 hours. Hope you like it and I'll post some closeups soon...<br />

I've put the main reference photos below the artwork, because first it was rejected by CG...  the photos are just from google - castle photo is copyrighted by Carl Tashian, one of the mountain picts by Chuck Painter. I can't find any copyright notes on the others. (does anybody know how can I attach multiple files to a gallery upload? or is it just for CG members?)<br />

I've never posted commercial stuff, but now. I made this illustration for a contemporary theatre piece what's based on Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. Done 95% Illustrator and finished in Photoshop to get some texture on the whole artwork and build up some minimal shiny lights. It was quiet a speed work... done in 3 hours.<br />
